Description
INTERDEPENDENCE OF MAN & NATURE
In this workshop we will create a self portrait in pencil, incorporating both dried plant life and naturally found pigments from various naturally found substances such as teas, spices and sands. We will also use other found objects and papers new and used.
The emphasis of this workshop will not be on drawing an accurate portrait- it can be simple and illustrative, an artists’ impression of their face, it can even be abstract. Where the focus will lie, is on experimentation with various found, natural plant life and reclaimed objects, extracting pigments from natural sources and paper manipulations to create plant like effects. The end result will be an illustration of how we see ourselves in nature and integrating with nature with the mindful view of being more responsible as people, as artists living in this world.
Emphasis too on enjoying the process, having fun, while creating something beautiful.
