Charl discovered his passion for art at a young age but initially followed a career in the corporate world. Years later, he returned to his creative roots, reigniting his love for painting and self-expression. Now based in Sea Point, Cape Town, Charl draws daily inspiration from the powerful natural elements that surround him—the vast ocean, dramatic skies, and majestic mountains.

Working primarily with acrylics, Charl creates bespoke abstract pieces that explore the connection between nature, spirit, and emotion. He is deeply motivated by the vibrancy of colour, using bold, expressive palettes to evoke feeling and movement. His work often channels the energy of flora, fauna, and mythical transformation.
