Cherie Roe Dirksen
Drawing on nature, the ultimate muse, Cherie Roe Dirksen’s art exhibits bold colours, flora and fauna, metallic mixed media along with spirals and patterned backgrounds which represent the chi or vital force that permeates our reality and everything in it.
Cherie is originally from Fish Hoek, Cape Town, but moved to the inspirational town of Barrydale in 2014.
She is also a self-empowerment author and blogger, having written for Odyssey Magazine, South Africa, and Conscious Life News, United States, to name a few. She has published 2 books and one table book.
Cherie also illustrated the local Barrydale heritage book, “Tales of the Elders,” which was compiled by the Net vir Pret Youth Center interns, where she taught arts and crafts for 5 years. She has also worked with the Oxford University Press, doing illustrations for South African educational workbooks.
She licenses her diverse work through Art Licensing in the US, so her work can be seen on all sorts of products from puzzles to prints, worldwide.
In July 2023, the Karoo Art Hotel, Barrydale, asked Cherie to display her art on all 12 flags flanking the building.
