Surfboard carving, acrylic, mixed media

Inspired by my and my daughter’s favorite place to surf. Carved into the inner foam core of the board.
Carved surfboards – The deck (top) of each board is carefully cut out so as not to damage the inner foam core and removed. All sorts of homemade hand are used as well as a dremel to aid with sculpting larger areas. Once the form is finalized, everything is sanded to a smooth finish and then painted with acrylics and sealed with 3-4 layers of automotive grade, protective gloss clear coat.
