Linda Mannix

Linda Mannix is a Cape Town–based painter who uses her spare time to indulge in her lifelong passion for art. She has had her own authorized financial planning practice for over three decades, and is a passionate Certified Financial Planner by day and an aspiring artist at every other opportunity. Her love of art began long before her career in finance.

Linda has always been fascinated by the source of light—whether the dappled shade reflected in Monet’s paintings or the luminous landscapes of Thinus De Jongh. She believes that the ability to capture light is what sets apart good artists from great ones.

Her love for wildlife inspired her to take on her biggest challenge yet: her first commercial painting, High Alert, a striking 1.5m x 1m portrait of a leopard. This work marked a milestone in her artistic journey, combining her technical discipline with her passion for nature.

Whilst an avid oil painter, striving for perfection in wildlife realism, Linda is now exploring other mediums—from pastels to watercolors, acrylics, and even beeswax—embracing more freedom in style depending on the commission. Each new medium and style adds to her experience and deepens her love of all art forms. As she says, once the bug bites, there is no limit to creativity.

Linda was privileged to be selected as an exhibiting artist at Kirstenbosch, a recognition reserved for artists who have attained a minimum level of skill.
