Linda Pauwels

From a young age, my passion for creativity was evident as I carried a sketchbook and pencils wherever I went, constantly engaged in drawing, crafting, and constructing with various materials. Completely self-taught, I spent years exploring different artistic mediums, nurturing my innate artistic spirit.

Although my academic pursuits led me into the realm of clinical and educational psychology between 1989 and 1996, my heart remained entwined with artistic expression. My involvement in our Educational business allowed me to contribute to the development of learning materials. Alongside this, the realm of Art Therapy captivated my interest, revealing the potent connection between creative engagement and emotional release. This fascination only grew as I became a full-time mom for our two autistic boys, offering me insights into the profound effects of sensory stimulation.

My chosen mediums are watercolours, micron ink, and acrylic pens on acid-free 300g paper (mixed media), reflecting my impatience with oil paint’s drying time. I find myself drawn to portraying faces and figures in harmony with the natural world’s beauty. My art is more than just a visual experience; it’s a therapeutic journey, a sacred connection that seizes both attention and heart.

The essence of my artistic expression is storytelling. I strive to infuse my art with narratives that resonate with viewers, evoking memories, emotions, and past experiences. Through this, I aspire to create a bridge between my inner world and the beholder’s heart, allowing them to embark on a personal voyage with each piece I create.
