Mary-Anne Flanagan
Mary-Anne Flanagan is a South African artist working between Cape Town’s West Coast and the Overberg. Her impressionistic paintings explore landscape, memory and our emotional connection to place. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, she uses expressive colour, texture and storytelling to create recognisable yet atmospheric works that sit between observation and remembrance.
After many years working in business, Mary-Anne now works as a full-time artist. Her art training has included courses in fine art, life drawing and printmaking at Ruth Prowse School of Art, studies with artist Diana Page, and an ongoing studio and mentoring relationship with Louise van Rhyn at Studio 46 in Blouberg.
She regularly exhibits with the Hangklip Art Collective at Harold Porter National Botanical Garden and as one of Hermanus’s Quay Artists.
