Rosemary Charron Rudd

Rosemary Rudd is a visual artist, specializing in oil paintings that capture the beauty of wildlife and seascapes. Known for her strikingly realistic depictions of her subjects, her work has been exhibited at prominent venues such as Decorex and Groot Constantia, reflecting a growing presence in the South African art scene.
Inspired by the natural world, Rosemary’s artwork, which is rooted in realism, reflects a deep connection to the rhythms of nature and the spirit of wild places. Through rich colours and textures, and the frequent depiction of movement, each piece captures the beauty and quiet drama of its setting, and invites the viewer to pause, reflect and reconnect with the environment.
Passionate about cats – wild and domestic, flowers and the sea, she has painted a variety of each, but primarily seascapes, (particularly around the Cape), some of which now reside in Germany, America and the UK.
Wherever possible Rosemary takes her own photographs and often uses a number of references merged into a single painting.
Based in Sunningdale, Cape Town, Rosemary continues to be inspired by her surroundings and brings nature to life on canvas with passion and precision.
