{"id":647,"count":17,"description":"I hold a BA in Fine Art from the Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town (2014), where I majored in printmaking with minors in painting and photography. My background in visual narrative, materiality, and symbolism continues to inform my work today.\r\n\r\nMy work seeks to bridge the inner and outer worlds - a visual language born\r\nfrom myth, nature, and the architecture of the psyche. At its core, my\r\npractice is an attempt to externalize the inner vision: to give form to fantasy,\r\nmemory, and the emotional landscapes that shape us.\r\nI am drawn to painting - especially oil and acrylic - for its ability to hold\r\nemotion, atmosphere, and mythic resonance. Alongside this, I explore\r\ndrawing, ink, printmaking, and sculptural forms to deepen the dimensionality\r\nof my work. I am fascinated by the structures that contain us, both literal and\r\nsymbolic; and often turn to architecture as a metaphor for the inner self.\r\nFantasy is not escape, but survival. It helps us rewrite personal narratives\r\nand shape new internal mythologies. Through visual storytelling, I aim to\r\nreflect the process of individuation, navigating the unknown, meeting\r\nsymbolic figures, and returning with a new truth. The symbols that emerge in\r\nmy work are drawn from global mythology, dream logic, emotional states,\r\nand the vast complexity of the human condition.\r\nMusic, mysticism, and the psychedelic experience all inform my creative\r\nrhythm, but nature remains my original and eternal muse, a reminder of both\r\nour smallness and our belonging within the cosmic orchestra.\r\nI hope my art invites viewers inward: toward their own mythologies, their own\r\nshadows and light. If my work serves as a mirror for someone else\u2019s journey,\r\nor simply reminds them that even the chaos has a pattern, then I have\r\nsucceeded in what I set out to do.","link":"https:\/\/www.kunyeartfoundation.org\/?product_cat=nella-fim","name":"Nella Fim","slug":"nella-fim","taxonomy":"product_cat","parent":43,"meta":[],"menu_order":0,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.kunyeartfoundation.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/product_cat\/647","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.kunyeartfoundation.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/product_cat"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.kunyeartfoundation.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/taxonomies\/product_cat"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.kunyeartfoundation.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/product_cat\/43"}],"wp:post_type":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.kunyeartfoundation.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fproduct&product_cat=647"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
