Acrylic on upcycled surfboard
198 x 54 x 8cm
Elephants are by nature herd animals. This piece shows a single elephant (male, as females stay with the herd) walking slowing along a path in the quiet savannah dusk, on his journey to mature, gain independence, establish dominance, moving away from it’s birth herd and thereby strengthening the species
Most of my materials are either donated or sourced for free via market place, scrapyards, municipal dumps, etc and are old usable boards or completely broken boards that I repair or use as is.
This applies to all surfboard pieces
Painted surfboards – Acrylics paints applied directly to the fiberglassed surface, sealed with 3-4 layers of automotive grade, protective gloss clear coat.
